8 Causes of Persistence

Success Habits Add comments

Missy Peregrym still looks good, even out of focus. :) When you persist, you focus on getting what you desire.

Persistence is an essential factor in the process of transforming desire into its [monetary, material, relationship...] equivalent.

In a vibrational universe, the stronger the mental image, the clearer the result. Makes sense. When you bring your target into focus with greater precision, what develops is truer to imagined likeness.

Without persistence, you are defeated even before you begin. With persistence, you will win.

Causes of Commitment (aka Persistent Effort)

Persistence is based upon definite causes, among them:

  • Definiteness of purpose. What do you envision as the outcome?
  • Desire. What do you want the outcome to be?
  • Self-reliance. You are responsible for your thoughts and directing your imagination towards envisioning yourself living what you desire.
  • Definiteness of plans. Single-mindedness is clarity; clarity with emotion is focused power that draws to you more of that upon which your mind is focused. “When you really really want something, it comes to you very fast. When you really really don’t want something, it comes to you very fast.” Focus on what you intend to achieve.
  • Accurate knowledge. Convince yourself of the validity of your beliefs. Know that you can have, be, do what is best for you.
  • Co-operation. Consciousness is one; you help yourself by helping others, and vice-versa. Selfishness is supremely altruistic.
  • Will power. Will power is simply the ability to keep your mind on what you want.
  • Habit. As you strengthen your ability to focus upon that which you want, you simultaneously strengthen the neural connections in your brain to habitually think along pathways that are aligned with living the outcomes you desire. The law of attraction helps continue the momentum of thoughts that inspire you by giving you more of the things you like, as you think on them and feel gratitude for what is coming and for what you are now living.
  • Lack of persistence is a weakness and one of the major causes of failure. However, it is a weakness that can be overcome by effort.

Constantly keep in mind that the starting point of all achievement is desire. If you do not persist, it is likely the result of not wanting the result, or not believing you can have the result you desire (see previous post on attaining and strengthening self-confidence). Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amout of heat. If you find yourself lacking in persistence, this is remedied by building a stronger fire under your desires and believing that what you intend to achieve, is possible.
